So, it being a beautiful day, we’ve gone into the city to do some writing out in the world. I’ve also worked out a way for my hero to shaft all the bad guys during the build-up, and a way for it all to go wrong. Much more fun than him simply playing their game and reacting to external events.
The wife is working on her cake price list. I’m glugging back cider and re-writing. Oh, and the Museum of Contemporary Art has some awesome brutal art going today.
Flying entrails! Perfectly setting the scene for chopping some more word count.
Where are we all writing today? Anybody typing away in an igloo? Would love to hear about it.
Best regards,
D.R.Sylvester
Wrote in a plane yesterday. Sadly no cider…
Plane writing is fun, until the guy in front leans their seat back and squooshes your laptop. And that is sad 😦 I hope there’s cider in your life, nay everyone’s lives soon.
Nice!
Writing in the cafe that I work at on my lunch break. No igloos in sight!
No igloos here either, but I live in hope. Saw some sweet igloos at Yuki Matsuri in 2009, in a little town called Otaru. Was amazing. And they had mulled wine, so good times were had.
Hurray for lunch break writing. You’re utilising your time efficiently, and hopefully getting free eats, or at least coffee, into the bargain
Better believe it 😉
I’m writing in the exotic location of… my desk. 😦 I would go outside, as the weather is beautiful, but the yard has become the Domain of the Mosquitoes, and all who venture there return scarred, deformed, and astoundingly itchy. Typing indoors it is.
Woah, yes I think I have to agree with you about staying indoors when the biting things are abroad. Unless you’re willing to tolerate high dose Aerogard toxicity… still, a good desk can be a wonderful place. One day I want to have a room that’s one part study, one part conservatory, and two parts library. With a sign on the door that says “Ook”, and a potted plant named Groot
Today I write only in my head. The first draft is done and today the story ‘floats’ .
Hey nothing wrong with writing in your head. I did that on the bus into the city and hammered out how my protag is going to make his move, AND how it’s going to backfire. Productive trip and I didn’t even put pen to paper/hand to keyboard/stylus to screen. Congrats on the completed draft! Always a good feel.
Sounds perfect way to spend the day J
Thanks mum! And yes, it was most excellent. You need to check out what they’ve done to the MCA next time you are back in Sydney
